Just use the easy heat map to see how you stack up!

We make it really easy to see how you stack up against your competition. Just use the AP360 Heat map report to see where you stand in each testing category. Checkout the explanations of each test area below!

10 Yard Dash

Acceleration & explosiveness. The initial rate of acceleration reflects a player’s strength and explosiveness. This measure determines an athlete's overall 40-yard time.

20 Yard Dash

Quickness & speed. In softball, the 20 yard dash is equivalent to running from base to base.

40 Yard Dash

Running power & strength. Measures a player’s ability to accelerate and maintain top running speeds over long distances.

The Flying 20

Measures the second half of the 40 Yard Dash and top speed of an athlete.

5-10-5 Agility

Measures a player's agility, explosiveness, and ability to change of direction. This test incorporates the ability to accelerate, decelerate, stop, and re-accelerate without losing balance.

Pre-Impact Speed

Measures the velocity of the bat barrel in miles per hour (MPH) from the start of the swing to contact with the ball bat impacts the ball. This measure is directly correlated to a player's strength, technique, and weight of the bat.

Exit Speed

Measures the velocity of the ball in miles per hour (MPH) after it has been hit by the bat. This is the direct measure behind the power of a ball coming off a bat. Every 1 MPH increase on a well hit rising line drive will give the ball an added 3.5 feet of travel distance. So hitting a ball off a tee (zero pitch speed) with a 60 mph bat speed should result in a 66 mph exit speed. Negative exit to bat speed results are not optimal for hitting with power.

Overhand Velocity

Measures a player's overhand throwing velocity in miles per hour (MPH).

Grip Strength

Measures a player's ability to transfer power generated by the legs, core, and shoulders to the bat while swinging and ball while throwing.

Athletic Performance Index

The results of the tests are put into a proprietary patent-pending algorithm, and the resulting number is the player's Athletic Performance Index (API). This single number ranks that player against every player who has ever been tested. The API has become the single most important objective statistical measurement in the area of recruiting.
